Abstract

1364465 Hydrodynamic torque converters SRM HYDROMEKANIK AB 3 Aug 1971 [5 March 1971] 6153/71 Heading F2C In a hydrodynamic torque converter wherein a rotating casing 1 carries pump blades P in an outflow section of the working circuit 2 and first and second stage turbine blades T1, T2 and reaction blades G are arranged in an inflow section of the working circuit, the second stage turbine blades are formed into parts T2M, T2N the former being two dimensional blades arranged in the inflow section and the latter being three dimensional blades arranged in the transition zone between the inflow and outflow sections of the working circuit. The three dimensional blades T2N improve the flow in the working circuit and may be replaced by other blade rings to provide the required torque converter performance. The three dimensional blade T2N may be angularly fixed or may be angularly adjustable and have a servo for setting the blade angles.
