Abstract

1364448 Loading ramps J S SIEDER 24 Nov 1971 [24 Nov 1970] 55883/70 Addition to 1170745 Heading B8H The two-section loading ramp, for bridging the gap between a railway wagon and a loading surface, described in the parent Specification 1,170,745 is modified in that the retaining arms, which are adapted to pivot outwardly to engage behind the door posts of the wagon, are so mounted on the ramp as to leave the ramp surface unobstructed. As shown, each retaining arm 10 is pivotally mounted by means of a pin 17 on a plate 11 which is secured to the outer surface of the wall 13 of the ramp section 14b. A disc 23 is slidably mounted in a slot 19 in the arm 10 and is urged by a spring 21 against a square-section lug 16 secured to the plate 11 whereby the arm is retained in any of the positions a, b, c. In a modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), the lug 16 is formed with a rounded nose to provide two stable positions of the arm,
