Abstract

1364447 Manhole covers MILTON PIPES Ltd H G ATKINS and G K BRISCALL 23 Nov 1971 [23 Nov 1970 14 May 1971] 55619/70 and 15088/71 Heading EIG . A concrete manhole cover, Fig. 1 (not shown) is provided with cast-in sockets (11) for a lifting tool, each socket comprising a hollow frusto-conical body 12, Fig. 7, e.g. of plastics, having an apertured end wall 13 for insertion of a lifting tool. As shown the aperture comprises a slot 18 flanked by ribs 22, 23 and cooperates with a T-head lifting tool, Fig. 5 (not shown). The socket has keying projections 16, 17 and an interference-fit closure 14, and may have an upstanding flange 24. (For Figures see next column)
