Abstract

1363820 Storing and transporting concentrated liquids ELTRA CORP 23 Nov 1972 [10 Jan 1972] 54251/72 Headings B8D and B8C [Also in Division H1] Concentrated sulphuric acid is stored and transported by impregnation in an absorbent block of open-celled material 13 within a container 10 whose side walls 11 have collapsible accordian-type pleats. When it is desired to dilute the acid, the side walls 11 are expanded and water is added through an orifice 12. The material 13 may be a foamed block of phenolic resins, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, or silicon derivatives. The container 10 may be of polytetrafluorethylene.
