Abstract

1363226 Welding by fusion N BUTTER 20 July 1971 [21 April 1970] 19055/70 Heading B3R A connector plug for interchangeably connecting a MIG torch to a welding machine comprises a two-part plastics body 1 having an opening 5 for receiving a flexible hose connected to the torch, and a pair of pins 17, a pin 18, a hollow pin 19 and an electrode wire inlet nozzle 12 adapted to be connected respectively to control current conductors 7, a welding current conductor 8, a shielding gas supply pipe 9 and a wire conduit 10 accommodated within said hose. The plug co-operates with a welding machine socket board having suitably connected sockets 27-29 receiving the pins 17-19 and rollers 13 by which electrode wire is fed into the inlet nozzle 12.
