1362851 Hydraulic fluids OLIN CORP 6 Sept 1971 [25 Sept 1970] 41494/71 Heading C5F Hydraulic fluids comprise as a component silanes of general formula where R is C 1 -C 10 alkyl or C 6 -C 10 aryl, R<SP>1</SP> is C 1 -C 4 alkyl, x is 2-4, y is 1-5 and z is 1-3. Other materials that may be present in major or minor amounts include borate esters, glycols and glycol ethers (many examples of each are given). Optional additives include alkali metal borates, potassium rosinate or tallate, morpholine, ethanolamine, mono- or di-butyl ammonium borate, 2,2-di-(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane, phenothiazine, phenyl - alpha - naphthylamine, dibutyl cresol, tolutriazole and sodium nitrite.
