Abstract

1362645 Godets; driving SIEMENS AG 12 Feb 1973 [14 March 1972] 6854/73 Heading DID [Also in Divisions F2 and H2] A godet is built integrally with an electric motor, the rotor portion 4 of which provides the godet rim 7 and rotates about the stator portion 1. The rotor has a flange 15 which may alternatively be at the inner end of the godet, Fig. 2 (not shown). A permanent magnet 5 is provided in the rotor for synchronous running, and a squirrel-cage winding 6 provides for asynchronous acceleration. A flanged mounting is shown in Fig. 1 and an alternative shorter mounting is illustrated in Fig. 2 (not shown). The godet may be used e.g. in a man-made fibre extruding apparatus.
