1362366 Propionamidotriazines DEUTSCHE GOLD - UND SILBER - SCHEIDEANSTALT 1 Sept 1971 [8 Sept 1970] 42891/70 Heading C2C Novel compounds of general formula in which X represents a C 1-4 linear or branched alkylmercapto or alkoxy group, or a benzylmercapto or phenylmercapto group; R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> which may be the same or different each represent H, a cyclohexyl group, a benzyl group or a linear or branched C 1-4 alkyl group, optionally substituted by -SR, -OH, -OR or -CN groups where R is C 1-4 alkyl; R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> taken together may also form a 5- or 6-membered ring, optionally containing an O atom, and R<SP>3</SP> represents H or a C 1-4 linear or branched alkylmercapto or alkoxy group, may be prepared by reacting an appropriate aminotriazine with a compound of formula Cl.CO 1 CH 2 CH 2 R<SP>3</SP> or R<SP>3</SP>CH 2 CH 2 CO.O.CO.CH 2 CH 2 R<SP>3</SP> in a solvent in the presence of a chlorinating agent, e.g. at 40-80‹ C. The novel compounds exhibit plant growth regulant properties.
