1362114 Porous PVC FIRESTONE TIRE & RUBBER CO 6 April 1972 [29 April 1971] 16020/72 Heading C3P Porous vinyl chloride is obtained in aqueous suspension at 80-150‹ F. in the presence of 0À002-0À2% of azobisdimethylvaleronitrile and up to 0À4% of sorbitan monolaurate (based on monomer) to at least 70% conversion; the product has a porosity of 0À33-0À50 c.c./g. and pore sizes in the range 0À3-0À5 microns. A second initiator may also be present and methyl cellulose as dispersing agent.
