1361898 Vending machines VENDO CO 28 Nov 1972 [24 May 1972] 54938/72 Heading A4T [Also in Division G4] A vending machine, which may be coin-freed, includes a dispenser 66 movable between a loading position, Fig.10, at which it receives a can 55a from inclined shelf 58 and a dispensing/ standby position, Fig.1, at which the can is released from the dispenser and falls through a door 36 to a delivery tray 34. The dispenser has a stop position 74 for preventing the release of further cans when the dispenser is in its dispensing position. In the embodiment described the dispenser is pivoted at 68 and coupled by links 78 to a manually operated key 26 which may be depressed when shaft 88 carrying blocking finger 92 is freed for rotation on the deposition of coinage. A plurality of side-by-side dispensing units, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), are controlled by common shaft 88, there being a finger 92 for each unit. On depression of key 26 the dispenser 66 is raised to receive the lowermost can from the shelf and the dispenser then pivots under the weight of the can to release it to the delivery tray. The rotation of shaft 88 by the extension 82 of the operated key disposes the other fingers 92 on the shaft so as to block the operation of any other key, and the simultaneous operation of two keys is prevented by a captive link system (136), Fig.12 (not shown).
