Abstract

1,171,881. Interlocks. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP. 11 Jan., 1968 [27 Jan., 1967], No. 1658/68. Heading G4V. A vending machine comprises a plurality of compartments each closed by a door 14a connected by a link 14c to a delivery tray 14d, each tray carrying a stud 14e co-operating with a common blocking member 20, and a coinoperated electrical control circuit for moving the blocking member clear of the studs 14e, each delivery tray being associated with a switch 31-34 in the control circuit whereby simultaneous movement of two of more delivery trays opens the control circuit to return the blocking member to its operative position. A switch 40 is closed by a coin to energize a relay 41 changing over contacts 41a, 41b and 41c to hold-on the relay and de-energize coin rejector 43 returning subsequent coins to the customer. Operation of one of the switches 31-34 on moving a delivery tray, energizes relay 23 to pivot the blocking member 20. Each delivery tray includes a full-stroke mechanism comprising a ratchet 24 and a common pawl 25. The latter operates a switch 26 in the supply line L2 to restore the control circuit to its initial state.
