Abstract

1361580 Drageeing tablet cores BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 27 Nov 1972 [30 Nov 1971] 54735/72 Addition to 1346929 Heading B2E A process for drageeing tablet cores in a conventional drageeing kettle with drageeing solutions or suspensions, comprises blowing a current of drying air through a tube passing down to a quantity of tablet cores which are being moved by rotation of the drageeing kettle containing them and by the action of gravity, a current of air forming an air sac surrounded by moving tablet cores in front of the mouth of the tube and the drageeing solution in suspension therewith is sprayed into the air sac. A precisely determined amount of an active material may be applied to the tablet cores with the drageeing solution or suspension. In the Examples placebo cores are coated with a solution comprising sugar, kaolin, titanium dioxide and polyvinyl pyrrolidene, a polyglycol, a blue lacquer, starch syrup and water. In a second Example the coating consists of sugar, calcium carbonate, titanium dioxide, a polyglycol, collidon 25, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, starch syrup, fast yellow, erythrosin and water.
