Patterns; moulding processes.-For accurately casting a number of identical articles with finished surfaces, a mould is made in plastic composition such as one containing plaster of paris by using a pattern plate formed of one or more identical sections 8 made by casting in metal or like hard material, preferably by the pressure die-casting process, in a metal or similar mould. Preferably the sections are so formed that when placed together, the main supply run 10 is formed by portions of the sections 8, and the branches 13, 14 are also so formed. The sections 8 are fixed to the base 17 by pins or rivets 16, and are each provided, alternately, with projections 18 or recesses 18<1> so that on the mould parts lugs and recesses are formed to secure accurate alinement.
