1361061 Ring and post type game F E CURTISS and J E CURTISS 18 Aug 1971 38833/71 Headings A6D and A6H An apparatus for playing a game comprises at least one post member having a plurality of targets and being capable of being mounted on a support surface; and at least one throwing member having a plurality of scoring portions and being capable of being thrown into scoring registration of one of said portions with one of said targets. As shown each post comprises an inverted 'U'-shaped part 6 attached to a further 'U'- shaped part 16. The uprights 20, 22 are spaced outwardly from the uprights 8, 10, and a crosspiece 14 limits the insertion of the post into the ground. The throwing member comprises a handle portion 32 and arm portions 34, 36, 50 interconnected by webs 58, 60. The arms 34, 36 are provided with hooks 42, 44 whereby the member may hang on part of the post. An aperture 66 is also provided which may be engaged with part of the post. Scoring is dependant on (a) whether the areas defined between arms 34, 36, 50 of the throwing member interseat the framed part 17 of the post; (b) whether the throwing member is suspended on the post by one of the hooks 42, 44 or by. aperture 66. The throwing member may be of resilient material (e.g. rubber) and the posts may be of plastics or steel.
