608,350. Signs. JACKSON, L. A. Feb. 20, 1946, No. 5358. [Class 3(ii)] [Also in Group XV] In a display device for use as a sign, toy or for educational purposes, of the kind comprising a number of elements which may be built up into letters &c., by entering pegs on the back of each element into 'holes in a board, the elements are now each provided with at least two bluntended pegs or spigots of slightly larger diameter than the holes in the board, and the latter is made of resilient material to grip the pegs &c. As shown in Fig. 1, a board formed of millboard or cardboard, or of a layer of rubber on a rigid backing 10, is pierced with holes 11 arranged parallel to its sides, the rows of holes being spaced apart half the distance between the holes in the row. Elements 12, Fig. 3, for attachment to the board are moulded from a synthetic resinous material and carry metal pegs 13 moulded into the material. The pegs are preferably spaced apart by a distance equal to ten times the space between rows since a circle with the radius X, Fig. 1, passes close to a considerable number of holes and thus permits the elements to be mounted obliquely if desired. The elements 14 may be coloured or made of flexible material and each peg may terminate in a knob.
