Abstract

1360005 Protective arrangements WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP 20 April 1971 [7 May 1970 (2)] 48332/73 Divided out of 1360004 Heading H2K A protective arrangement includes an "auctioneering" circuit for obtaining a unidirectional output current which is substantially equal to the output current of only one of a plurality of unidirectional current sources having output terminals connected in a series circuit. In Fig. 5 each of the sources CCS1 ... CCS3 is shunted by diode BM4 ... RM6 reversely poled with respect to the currents I 1 ...I 3 of the other sources, the output current I s being substantially equal to only the smallest of the currents I 1 ...I 3 . Zener diodes Z100 ... Z102 may be provided. In another arrangement, Figs. 1 to 4 (not shown) which is that of Specification 1,360,004, the unidirectional current sources are bridge rectifiers connected by intermediate transformers to current transformers in a three phase circuit, the output from the rectifier being substantially equal to only the highest of the output currents from the rectifiers.
