1359818 Electrostatic toners; pigmented polymer blend particles AGFA-GEVAERT 8 June 1971 [30 Dec 1970] 61855/70 Heading C3P Electrostatic toner particles having a particle size of 1-30 microns consist of 5-15% of colouring material, e.g. carbon black, and 95- 85 % of a resin mixture consisting of (a) 40-60% of a styrene homo or copolymer, (b) 20-40% of butyl acrylate or methacrylate homo or copolymer, and (c) 5-20% of polyvinyl butyral, polyethylene or vinyl acetate/ethylene copolymer (as plasticizer). Resin (a) may be homopolystyrene, a copolymer of styrene and isobutyl methacrylate, or a copolymer of styrene, a-methyl styrene and isobutyl methacrylate. Resin (b) may be a copolymer containing up to 80% of methyl acrylate or methacrylate, for example CO (methyl methacrylate/n-butyl methacrylate) copolymer.
