Abstract

1359769 Cinematography BACH AURICON Inc 1 May 1972 20118/72 Heading G2E A cine camera designed for portable operation has a spatial arrangement to counterbalance the weight of an elongated (e.g. zoom) lens assembly. This is achieved by means of a plate 21 carrying in counterbalancing relationship a lens mount 60 and an arm 65, supporting the supply 23 and takeup 24 reels; the plate 21 being located in an elongated body 10 providing a resilient mounting 68 for the opposite end of the arm 65. As shown the film path extends from supply reel 23 over rollers 30, 31, between the rollers 32, 33 and the front face of sprocket 25, over roller 35, through gate 27, over roller 37, through sound recording unit 29 having guide roller 41 and pressure roller 42, around the rear face of the sprocket 25 and over rollers 43, 44 to the takeup reel 24. A motor 47 has gear train 49, 50, 51, 52 to power the sprocket 25 and a belt 54 further powers spool 24. The plate 21 has resilient attachments 69, 70 to the casing 10, each comprising a screw 83 attached to a layer of rubber or other resilient material 82 overlaying the central part of a mounting plate 79. The lens mount 60 is located in plate 61 surrounded by a sealing ring 62, the plate 61 being screwed to the plate 21. The resilient mounting 68 includes a cup 74 and a resilient (e.g. rubber) cushion 77.
