Abstract
1359321 Toothed gearing; lubricating WILSON MILLER & CO Ltd 12 May 1972 [12 Feb 1971] 4526/71 Headings F2Q and F2A An output gear 10 is rotatably supported by a ball bearing 12 in a casing 1 and by an extension 11 supported by spaced bearings 7, 8, or an elongated bearing, within a bore 5 in a coaxial input gear 4 which is supported from a casing end cover 2 by a ball bearing 13. The gears 4, 10 mesh gears 15, 16 on a countershaft 14 which is supported by ball bearings 17. Lubricating oil is contained in a sump 20 into which the gears 15, 16 dip to provide a spray of oil which lubricates all the ball bearings and is caught in passages 23 in a disc 21 and conveyed to the bearings 7, 8.
