Abstract

1358892 Turbine stator casings SIEMENS AG 17 Sept 1971 [6 Aug 1971] 43571/71 Heading FIT [Also in Division F2] The relative alignment of machine components 1, 2, e.g. parts of a turbine stator casing is adjustably secured by a dowel assembly comprising a pin 5 having a first portion 4 for location in the component 1 and a second portion 8 for reception in the bore 13 of a sleeve 10 for location in the component 2, either the sleeve or the pin being rotatable relative to its associated component, and, with the pin portion 8 engaged in the sleeve 10, the longitudinal axis of the portion 8 and the bore 13 being eccentric relative to the axis of rotation of said either the sleeve or the pin. As shown, the pin portion 8 and the bore 13 are frusto-conical, and the pin is drawn into the bore by a bolt 16 to expand the sleeve 10 and frictionally lock the pin 5 in the sleeve 10 and the sleeve in the component 2, Fig.1a or 1', Fig.3a. The sleeve has a fulllength longitudinal slit 18 Fig.1a, 1b, which may be bridged by a web 21, Fig.3a, to render the assembly fluid-tight in the component 1. The bore 13 is eccentric in the sleeve 10, and the portion 4 of the pin may be eccentric relative to the portion 8. The portion 4 may be cylindrical, Fig. 2 (not shown) to engage in a bore in the component 1, or have flats 6, 7 as shown, to engage in a slot in one of the components. The end 14 of the sleeve 10 may be shaped, e.g. hexagonal, to facilitate angular adjustment by a tool.
