Abstract
1358757 Pesticidal application of phenyl amidines CIBA-GEIGY AG 2 Aug 1971 [3 Aug 1970] 36172/71 Heading A5E [Also in Division C2] Paddy stem borers are combatted by treating them or their locus or habitat with a compound of the formula: wherein R is a C 1 to C 4 alkyl group and X is F, A, Br or I, or with a salt of such a compound with an inorganic acid. The compounds of the above formula may be used by themselves or together with carriers and/or adjuvants including solvents, dispersants, wetting agents, adhesives, thickeners, binders, fertilisers or further biocidal compounds. Specified classes of biocidal compounds are ureas, saturated and unsaturated halo-fatty acids, halohydrocarbons, carbamates, triazines, nitroalkyl phenols, organic phosphoric acids, quaternary ammonium compounds, sulphamic acids, arsenates, arsenites, borates or chlorates. Examples are given in which compositions are prepared and tested.
