Abstract

1359727 Herbicidal application of phosphorothionamidates SUMITOMO CHEMICAL CO Ltd 24 Sept 1971 [25 Sept 1970 25 Dec 1970] 44743/71 Heading A5E [Also in Division C2] Weeds are controlled by applying thereto a herbicidal composition containing as an effective ingredient a compound of formula I where R 1 is C 3-4 alkyl, R 2 is C 1-4 alkyl and n is 0, 1, 2 or 3. Compounds of formula I in which (a) n is 0, R 1 is n-butyl and R 2 is C2-4 alkyl, (b) n is 0, R 1 is i-propyl and R 2 is C 3-4 alkyl, (c) n is 0, R 1 is n-propyl or sec- or tertbutyl and R 2 is C 1-4 alkyl or (d) n is 1 to 3, R 1 is C 3-4 alkyl and R 2 is C 1-4 alkyl are said to be novel, some being claimed per se, and compositions containing them together with an inert carrier are claimed.
