Abstract
1358070 Corrugating; making lattice girders EVG ENTWICKLUNG U VERWERTUNGS GmbH 2 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 56000/71 Headings B3E and B3A An apparatus for forming a zig-zag wire for a lattice girder comprises two rotatable coaxial discs 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, each having equiangularly spaced wire bending pins 15, 151, and two pivotable levers 16, 16<SP>1</SP> having pins 17, 17<SP>1</SP> for alternately bending the wire F around the disc pins 15, 15<SP>1</SP> as the discs 14, 14<SP>1</SP> rotate. In operation, the wire F, moving through straighteners 11, 11<SP>1</SP> and U- shaped guides 13 in a plane tangential to the rotating discs 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, is bent around a pin 151 of the lower disc 14<SP>1</SP> by the pin 171 of the lever 16<SP>1</SP> which is pivoted upwards about an axis A<SP>1</SP>. The wire F is moved by the lever pin 17<SP>1</SP> above the level of the upper disc 14 so that when the lever 16<SP>1</SP> moves away from the wire F on its return stroke, the wire F rebounds elastically and engages a pin 15 on the upper rotating disc 14. Subsequently, the upper lever 16 is pivoted downwards about pivot axis A to cause the wire F to be bent around the upper disc pin 15. Flange wires G are welded to the zig-zag lattice wire formed by rotating disc electrodes 18, 18<SP>1</SP>, after which the lattice girder leaves the discs 14, 14<SP>1</SP>, is straightened by rollers 19 and cut into lengths by a cutter 20. The discs 14, 14<SP>1</SP> are mounted on a shaft (26) (Fig. 3, not shown) which is rotated by a motor driven shaft (21) via worm gear (23, 24). The levers 16, 16<SP>1</SP> are oscillated by rods (35, 35<SP>1</SP>) pivoted to a triangular member (31) oscillated about a pin (32) by a rod (30) which is reciprocated by the drive shaft (21) via bevel wheels (28, 29). The disc 14<SP>1</SP> is slidable along the shaft (26) and may be coupled to the axis A<SP>1</SP> of the lever 16<SP>1</SP>. Alternatively, the distances between the axes A, A<SP>1</SP> and the discs 14, 14<SP>1</SP> may be adjustable. Each lever 16, 16<SP>1</SP> comprises a lever arm (16b) (Fig. 4, not shown) which carries the bending pin 17, 17<SP>1</SP> and which is adjustable relative to a main arm (16a).
