Abstract

1357953 Beverage dispensing apparatus PORTER-LANCASTRIAN Ltd 3 May 1972 [8 March 1971] 6230/71 Heading A4T [Also in Division F2] In a carbonated beverage dispensing system, a device preventing dispensing of fob comprises a chamber 11 having beverage inlet 12 and outlet 13, a float 16 movable relative to the outlet according to the level in the chamber and engageable with an outlet seat 19 when the chamber is empty or substantially empty of beverage to close the outlet, vent means 14 which may be manually operable, and a manual displacement plunger 18 for acting on the float to displace it from the outlet seat. When the supply to inlet 12 terminates, valve 16 closes the outlet and prevents fob being dispensed. When a new supply is connected, vent 14 is opened, beer fills the chamber and gas and fob are vented at 14, the beer pressure keeps the valve 16 closed but the valve is then opened by depressing plunger 18. The valve may move in a cylindrical vertical guide and the plunger slope through a side slot in the guide.
