1357849 Reciprocating pumps ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 7 June 1972 [16 June 1971] 26492/72 Heading F1A In an axial piston pump having a rotary cylinder block 6 engaging a stationary ported valve plate 8 with web portions separating the ports at top and bottom dead centre, the top dead centre web has a duct 17, 20 for connecting the cylinder bores 9 to the suction port 14, section 17 of the duct being disposed at an acute angle to the valve plate plane and having a diffuser portion 21. The duct opening 20 is positioned so that either the cylinder port moves out of communication with the delivery port before communicating with the duct, or the cylinder port slightly overlaps the delivery port and the duct.
