Abstract

1357691 Supporting pipes under water INDUSTRIEELE HANDELSCOMBINATIE HOLLAND NV 11 Jan 1972 [18 Jan 1971] 1142/72 Heading F2P A pipe-line 1 is supported by a plurality of elongate floats 4, each secured by an articulated joint to brackets 3. The floats 4 are normally vertical and project through the surface 9 of the water, but they may be winched by means of a cable 6 and waterproof winch 5 into the horizontal position shown dotted at 8, thereby increasing the buoyancy of the pipe-line 1 and raising it to the surface (not shown). The pipe-line 1 may comprise a plurality of sections interconnected by articulated joints 2. The articulated joints may be ball joints. Specification 1,225,126 is referred to.
