Abstract

1357064 Chains HENNIG GmbH Gebr 1 May 1972 [26 May 1971] 20071/72 Heading F2Q A self-supporting articulated chain comprises identical links, 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, 1<SP>11</SP>, each having parallel abutment surfaces 5 and 6 at bent-over portions 11 and 12 thereof and oblique abutment surfaces 7 and 8 as shown, the parallel surface defining the extended position of the chain and the oblique surfaces the maximum angled position of successive links. Each link is cranked at one end, 9, the uncranked end of the adjacent link fitting into the recess thereby formed. The flat side of the chain has covers 14, each of which extends over two joints, and links in the shape of spectacles (Fig. 4, not shown) may be fitted over the side shown in Fig. 5. Two chains such as that shown may be connected together, side by side, by the use of intermediate webs, this being stated to be useful in the support of electrical cables between a fixed power point and a movable consumer unit. The covers 14 and the covers in spectacle shape can have apertures in the regions of the joints to allow dirt to escape.
