Abstract

1356904 Viscosimeter PARKE DAVIS & CO 12 Sept 1972 [13 March 1972] 42386/72 Heading G1S A viscosimeter comprises an auger-shaped spindle 10 suspended from a torsion element 11, a motor (not shown) for rotating the spindle 10 via the element 11, means for sensing the torsional strain of the element 11, and a guard tube 20 which has apertures 27 and is open at its lower end. In use, rotation of the spindle 10 pumps liquid through tube 20 from apertures 27 to the lower end or vice versa. The viscosimeter may be used to measure the viscosity of an aqueous gelatine dipping solution used in the production of pharmaceutical capsules.
