Abstract
1356897 Ferritic steel compositions DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE GmbH 21 Nov 1972 [14 Dec 1971] 53734/72 Heading C7A A ferritic steel, having resistance to scaleformation and spalling at medium or high temperatures and especially suited for the construction of after burners for motor vehicle engines to minimize emission of pollutant gases, consists of, by weight:- the balance being iron, impurities and incidental ingredients, e.g. sulphur, wherein:- (a) the sum of E and N contents is 0À05 to 0À20% (b) the sum of Si and Al contents is 2 to 5% (c) the free Ti content is at least 0À2% (d) the composition satisfies the equation 4(%C) + 3À5(%N) + 3(%S) + 0À6 > (%Ti) + 0À5(%Nb + %Zr) + 0À25(%Ta) > 4%C + 3À5(%N) + 3(%S) + 0À2.
