Abstract

1356505 Feeding webs SIEMENS AG 15 May 1972 [19 May 1971 (3)] 22656/72 Heading B8R [Also in Division B6] A web feed mechanism for a web P provided with transport perforations and comprising one or more layers, e.g. a feed mechanism in a high speed printer, includes feed belts SR having tapered drive pins S, and at least one pressure belt AR3 per feed belt, the pressure belts being swingable away from the feed belts and mounted on idler pulleys LR3, LR4 so that they are entrained by the feed motion of the feed belts. The pressure belts may have rounded dove tail protruberances ST thereon to fit between the pins on the feed belts or holes therein to accommodate the pins. Two pressure belts per feed belt may be provided, the pressure belts each being of circular cross section and running one on either side of the pins. The pressure belts run around idler pulleys LR3, LR4 mounted on a spring urged yoke or rocker which can be swung away from the feed belts for web loading. The pressure belts may be of rubber, or plastics and may be provided with a steel, plastics or textile cable insert.
