Abstract

1355807 Clamping device WERKZEUGMASCHINENKOMBINAT "7 OKTOBER" BERLIN VEB 2 Nov 1971 [15 Dec 1970] 59540/70 Heading B3B A clamping device adapted to be secured to a workspindle 5 of a machine tool for alignment and clamping of a self-centering chuck in the form of a clamping disc 13 operates as follows: movement of a push rod 1 causes bevelled portion 1c to engage clamping levers 2 which are thus moved outwardly. This moves clamping pins 4 outwardly so that nose portions 4a engage in annular groove 13a and pins 7 engage in recesses 12a. Further movement of the push rod 1 causes face la thereof to abut nut 14 and move it to the right. The nut moves bush 10 that moves diaphragm 11. This diaphragm has projections 11a that are moved radially outward to centre disc 13. Further movement also causes pivoting of levers 2 which force pins 4 outwardly and inwardly to clamp the disc. Release is by reverse movement of the push rod with inward projections 8a of the diaphragm forcing levers 2 into their start positions.
