1355768 Board/obstacle game M I GLASS [trading as MARVIN GLASS & ASSOCIATES] 10 May 1972 [14 May 1971] 21873/72 Heading A6H A board game includes a board 10 having a track of marked spaces 26, playing pieces, e.g. 16-Fig. 3, for movement around the track in accordance with numbers obtained from chance selecting apparatus (e.g. dice 20) and a number of obstacles spaced around the track which a competitor must overcome before being able to continue movement of his/her playing piece around the track. The first obstacle is a model tree 30 having a hanging miniature tyre 44, which a competitor is obliged to throw on to a hook 46 of a central fence member 50. After successfully completing this obstacle the playing piece is moved onwards until it reaches the fence 50, and there the playing piece is mounted on a single pulley member with balancing weights (Fig. 4, not shown). The playing piece and pulley member are placed upon a V-strip 50a (Fig. 3) and the competitor attempts to drive the playing piece over gap 54 to a stop 62 (Fig. 2) by tilting the V-strip 50a. The next obstacle is at 70 where a competitor attempts to skim pebbles 68 into the scoring areas 66a, b, c of a panel representation 66. The playing piece may then continue to a space 82 (not shown in Fig. 3) and-through a hole 72 in the fence 50. At space 82 the competitor attempts to roll marbles 75 through the fence hole 72 into recesses in a model melon patch. 74. The last obstacle comprises a catapult 90, 92, upon which playing piece 16 is placed after attachment of a hemispherical base (124), and a model kennel 106 having on its roof, a model dog 108 which is biassed by an elastic band so that the dog "pops up" should a catapulted playing piece 16 hit the kennel 106. At the end of the track a biscuit jar 131 and lid 131a containing a model biscuit 132 is located. The jar 131, 131a is shaken and the biscuit 132 thrown out. The biscuit has a white side indicating that the game has been successfully completed and a black side indicating that it has not. A pack of cards 140 is provided for directing movement of the playing pieces when they land upon particularly marked squares.
