Abstract

1355071 Two piece earth-cutting edge ESCO CORP 5 Aug 1971 [13 Aug 1970] 36873/71 Heading E1F In a two part, earth-cutting edge assembly a support part has, behind a front portion for abutting and supporting a cutter part when the cutting part is locked onto the support, one or more sockets 44, 48 for receiving an aligned tab 51 on the cutting part so as to prevent relative rotation of the two parts. Each tab 51 may have a first portion extending rearwardly from the cutter part at a level, when the parts are assemlbled, above the level of the support part, a second portion extending down from the first portion and a third portion extending rearwardly from the second part for entry into a socket. The front portion of the support part has a flat face extending transversely of the front to rear direction of the assembly, the face providing an abutment for a complementary face of the cutter part, which also has at its rear lips for embracing the upper and lower surfaces of the front portions of the tear part.
