Abstract

1353811 Labelling device REINHARD WOLF GmbH & CO KG 5 July 1971 [6 July 1970] 31368/71 Heading B8F In a manually held electric labelling device, self adhesive labels 24 on a carrier web 26 pass from a spool 20 between rollers 46, 50 and thence, via roller 66, to an edge 68 of a platen 36. Individual labels become detached at the edge 68 being applied by a rocker member 88 pivoted at an axle 90. The web 26 then passes beneath the platen 36 and thence around a roller 72. Pivoting of the member 88, on the application of a label 26, depresses a switch 92 actuating an armature 34 attached via a pin 40, to the platen 36. The armature 34 and platen 36 move upwards, pressing a label 24 on the web 26 against printing rollers 80. Pawl 56, also attached to the armature 34, engages a ratchet wheel 48 advancing the label web 26 half a label length. Roller 50, being coupled by gearwheel 52 to roller 46, also rotates causing the roller 72 to advance the web 26 by the same amount. Armature 34 is then de-energized, a spring 42 moving the platen 36 back to the position shown. This movement causes an arm 64, which is rigidly attached to the platen 36, to pivot a pawl 60 thereby advancing the ratchet wheel a further half a label length, application of a further label then being possible.
