Abstract

135,372. Testar, C. H., and Swain, J. Jan. 23, 1919. Stationary batch-mixers with rotary stirrers; clamping and securing devices.-In a pail or bucket for use in bread-making, dough-kneading, or other like purpose, the spindle of the kneading or mixing arms 13, Fig. 1, is carried by a flat bar 8 which is formed at one end with a projecting tongue 7 to engage in a bracket 5 secured to one side of the pail and at the other end is bent downwards to form a flange 10 to engage in a bracket 6 secured to the opposite side of the pail. A bolt or screw 11 carried by the bracket 6 forces the flange 10 against the side and rim of the pail. In a modification, the projecting tongue of the bar engages an elongated slot in the side of the pail near its rim, and the bent end of the bar is provided with a screw to engage a hole in the side of the pail. Fig. 3 shows a method of clamping the pail to a table &c. One limb of a U-shaped member 14 engages a channel-section member 15 secured to the bottom of the pail, and the other end carries a thumb-screw 16 with a loose washer 17 to engage the table 18.
