Abstract

1353085 Curable compositions GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 3 Aug 1971 [3 Sept 1970] 36450/71 Heading C3B [Also in Divisions B1-B2] A curable composition comprises (I) an epoxy resin, (II) a phenolic accelerator present at 0À1-15% by wt. of I and (III) an organic titanate present at 0À05-10% by wt. of I. I may be a cycloaliphatic epoxy resin, e.g. 3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl - 3,4 - epoxycyclohexane carboxylate, a diglycidyl ether of a polyhydric phenol, a diglycidyl ester or an epoxy novolac resin (or mixtures thereof). II may be catechol, bisphenol A, resorcinol, hydroquinone, phenol-formaldehyde condensate or a chloro- or bromo-phenol. III may be a chelated titanate, e.g. acetylacetonate titanate, triethanolamine titanate, polyhydroxystearate titanate or a glycol titanate. Non-chelated titanates, e.g. tetraisopropyl, tetrabutyl, polymerized tetrabutyl, tetrastearyl or tetrakis (2-ethylhexyl) titanate, may also be used. Uses.-Electrical insulation.
