Nov. 21, 1918 Hand-stamps.-In hand-stamps of the type in which rubber &c. type on endless bands project through an opening in a hinged plate, the end bands carrying the units and tens members are mounted on rollers, while the year and month bands are on a fixed block. As shown, the bands 1, 2 for the years and months are on a fixed block 3 having curved ends, and the units and tens bands 6, 7 are on two pairs of rollers 8, 9, and 10,11 respectively on shafts 20, 21@ the block 3, the whole being secured between the sides 15, 16 of the frame or casing 14 of the stamp by a screw-pin 28 passing through the tubular shaft 20. The hinged plate 31 is secured, when closed, by a projection 32 engaging a spring catch 30 on the casing. A guard-plate 18, formed as shown in Fig. 7, is preferably placed outside the rollers 8, 9, between them and the side 15, and a similar plate may be placed on the outer side of the block 13. Serrated disks or flanges 13 may be secured to the upper rollers 8, 10 for rotating them by the finger to set the bands 6, 7. The rollers 8 - - 11 may be polygonal as shown at 12, Fig. 6.
