Abstract

1352845 Take-up motions for looms THOMAS ASHWORTH & Co Ltd 19 April 1971 [8 April 1970] 16557/70 Heading D1E In a take-up motion for a loom the cloth roller is reciprocated axially during weaving so that edges of the cloth are not laid directly above each other as the cloth roller rotates. The axial reciprocation of the roller may be produced by incorporating a mechanism in the cloth roller, Fig. 1, which includes a ratchet wheel 10 with an eccentric pin 16 which wheel 10, as the ratchet wheel is rotated by a fixed abutment 17 on the loom, and reciprocates the barrel 6 of the roller relative to the pike 3.
