1352414 Histidine derivatives TANABE SEIYAKU CO Ltd 28 April 1971 12019/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises novel compounds (II) and a process for making therapeutic compound (I) according to the following reaction scheme, i.e. via compounds IV, VI and the free amine corresponding to IV (X is o-nitrophenylsulphenyl, p-methoxybenzyloxycarbonyl, tert.-amyloxycarbonyl or tert.- butoxycarbonyl, R is H or C 2-7 alkoxycarbonyl and Y is a protective group, e.g. benzyloxycarbonyl, p-methoxybenzyloxycarbonyl, tert.-butoxycarbonyl and tert.-amyloxycarbonyl). II are made by tosylating the appropriate compounds (R is also alkyl) which are themselves prepared by introducing the acyl group X into histidine esters. II are also isolated as salts with dicyclohexylamine. The free amine corresponding to (IV) is also isolated as the trifluoroacetate salt. Pharmaceutical preparations useful as a thyroid gland stimulating factor contain (I) as active ingredient; administration is, e.g. parenterally.
