Abstract

1352348 Injection moulding machines MANNESMANN-MEER AG 19 April 1971 [14 April 1970] 26792/71 Addition to 1331462 Heading B5A In an injection moulding machine comprising two moulds supplied alternately by an injection unit 7 through a distributer member 8 having controllable closure nozzles, each nozzle comprises a head member 12 slidable on a nozzle member 13 so as to open and close bores 20 on the member 13, and a needle 17 within the member 13 biased by springs 18 to close a bore 27 leading to the mould cavity. The invention is particularly applicable to the moulding of foamable thermoplastic material which is held in a chamber 16 within the distributer member 8 until the bores 20 are opened by movement of the members 8 and 12 by means of a cylinder 29. This allows the material to move the needle 17 to open the bore 27 and be injected into the mould where foaming and setting take place.
