1352304 Milling cutters BRITISH STEEL CORP 19 April 1971 [27 Nov 1969] 58183/69 Heading B3K [Also in Division B5] A high speed friction cutter 5 comprises a cutting edge 6 which may be of zig-zag form, said edge being formed by grooves 8 in the sides of the cutter. The grooves may penetrate into opposite faces, they may have straight roots, radially offset gaps, or different side angles. A stream of oxygen or oxygen enriched air may be introduced to the sides of the cutter when in operation. The cutter may be used when cutting workpieces which are at elevated temperatures, (hot cutting).
