Abstract
1351921 Nitrofuryl-triazolo-pyridazine-amides BOEHRINGER MANNHEIM GmbH 16 Jan 1973 [21 Jan 1972] 2284/73 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds having the general formula wherein R 1 is a hydrogen atom or a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having 2 to 5 carbon atoms. They may be prepared by (a) reacting an acid of the formula with an amine of the formula (b) oxidative cyclization of a compound of the formula (c) condensation, with cyclization, of 2-nitrofuran-5-carboxylic acid with a compound of the formula (d) nitration of a compound of the formula or (e) treatment of a compound of the formula with an agent splitting off ammonia. The compounds of the invention exhibit high antibacterial activity in the urine and may be administered orally or parenterally in admixture with a liquid or solid pharmaceutical diluent or carrier, or externally as a powder or salve.
