1351528 N-Carbonyl sulphonamides KALLE AG 2 June 1971 [4 June 1970] 18550/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises N-carbonyl sulphonamides of the formulae wherein R is a C 1 to C 6 alkyl or alkoxy radical which may be substituted by 1 to 3 halogen atoms, a cycloalkyl radical, or a C 6 or C 10 aryl or aryloxy radical which may be substituted by 1 to 3 halogen atoms and/or by C 1 to C 6 alkyl or alkoxy radicals, R<SP>1</SP> is H or CH 3 , X is -O- or -NH-, A is phenylene or C 1 to C 4 alkylene, n is an integer from 1 to 4 and m is 1 or may be 0 when X is -NH- in Formula I or may be 0 in Formula II. They may be obtained by reacting a sulphonyl isocyanate of formula in an inert gas atmosphere and at temperatures between 0 and 100‹ C. with a compound of one of the formulae Examples are given for the production of the compounds. They are useful for production of homopolymers and copolymers by radical polymerization.
