Abstract

1350924 Assembling components to circuit boards FIMI SpA 25 May 1971 [3 June 1970] 16958/71 Heading B3A Terminals of electrical components are simultaneously secured to a printed circuit board 57 by raising an interchangeable plate 14 carrying terminal securing tools 17 towards the board 57 and lifting a second plate 27 to actuate the tools 17. The board 57 is moved along guides 56 and locked in position when a member 60 co-operates with a slot in the board 57. The plate 14, carrying the tools 17 in apertures 16 and detachably mounted to a frame 13 slidable on columns 11, is raised by piston and cylinder devices 44, 46 so as to position jaws 18 of the tools 17 adjacent holes 58 in the board 57. After threading the terminals of the components through the holes 58, the plate 27 is raised by a piston and cylinder device 30, 33 causing a piston in each tool holder 24 to be forced upwardly against spring bias 22 and close the tool jaws 18 so as to deform each terminal.
