Abstract

1350920 Transistor oscillators MARCONI CO Ltd 7 Sept 1971 [3 Dec 1970] 57582/70 Heading H3T A colpitts oscillator comprises an active element consisting of two transistors of complementary type 1A, 1B each connected in common collector configuration and arranged to operate in push-pull with one another on alternate half cycles. The ratio of biasing resistors 5, 6 is chosen such that transistor 1A operates in class A-B while transistor 1B operates in class B. The output at terminal 10 is a square wave with peaks limited by saturation voltages of 1A, 1B.
