Abstract

1350764 Fixing to concrete G K N SANKEY Ltd 3 June 1971 [4 March 1970] 10303/70 Heading E1W [Also in Division B2] A structural member for supporting partitioning, shelving &c has a cross section comprising a base 10, two parallel side flanges 11, a top flange 12 and inturned flanges 13 on the top flange the inside being filled with an expanded foam material, such as polystyrene, to prevent of egress of concrete into the member in use. The polystyrene may be locally removable to allow the insertion of a nut into the member. Foamable polyurethane may also be used. The base of the member may have tongues 16 protruding therefrom and before filling a tape 18 which is self adhesive may be applied to prevent loss of filling material during manufacture.
