1350576 Ship engine control system G SOTIRIOU 5 May 1971 [7 May 1970] 22074/70 Heading G4F A ship's engine control system includes a manually operated engine-controlling member (10) arranged to be moved to "ahead" or "astern" positions and an interlock pneumatically operated by signals from the bridge to prevent incorrect movement of the manually operated member,- the interlock comprising a gate 12 within which an arm 11 connected to the manually operated member is received. The gate 12 may be connected to a piston 14 which is moved by air pressure controlled by a valve 29 operated automatically in response to bridge signals.
