Abstract

1350112 Packaging articles HEBERLEIN & CO AG 23 Sept 1971 [25 Sept 1970] 44532/71 Heading B8C A method of packing into a container tubes 5 comprises assembling the tubes to form a first layer 16, displacing the layer from a support 11 on to a platform 50 which is vertically movable between side walls, lowering the platform 50 and forming further tube layers each of which is displaced on to a previous layer on platform 50, and displacing all of the layers simultaneously into the container. The layers may be displaced by a pusher 38 directly from the platform 50 or the layers may be transferred to a second vertically movable platform 52 by withdrawing the platform 50. Additional layers are then displaced on to the stack on the platform 52 from the support 11 before the layers are pushed into a container. The support 11 comprises a conveyer belt on to which the tubes fall from a shoot. A photo-cell at the bottom of the shoots detects when a layer is completed. All the layers may have the same number of tubes or alternate layers may have one less than the other layers.
