Abstract

The loading of wire mesh containers is achieved automatically using a movable floor which receives the first layer and then drops in stages for receiving further layers. Four rams are installed in the floor. Their rods pass through the container (1) bottom and hold a false floor (2) at level of loading conveyor (B). Layer is formed by loads pushing one against another, or by tilting floor and using gravity assistance. Floor is lowered a distance to make top of first layer the bottom of next layer and an interleaf (7) inserted. The process is repeated until full; rams are withdrawn and container removed.
