Abstract

1349905 Shearing KOMBINAT UMFORMTECHNIK ERFURT VEB 30 June 1971 30679/71 Heading B3W Rod 10, fed by pivotable grippers 7 into alignment with a feed ram 17 and a shear, is fed by the ram into apertured cutters 11, 9 until it abuts a stop 5 in movable cutter 9. The ram 17 is locked relative to a holder 13, in this position. Just before a ram 1 actuates the movable cutter carriage 3 an eccentric-drive toggle linkage 15, 16 advances the ram holder 13 to compress the rod against the stop 5, passing beyond the extended position of levers 15, thus abruptly ending the axial compression, before shearing of a disc blank from the rod has been completed. A hydraulically-driven ejector 6 moves the stop 5 counter to the feed direction to eject the blank. The carriage is mounted on a shock absorber 8.
